About the Event

Navratri Garba Dandiya

Navratri is a vibrant and colorful festival celebrated in India, especially in the western states. It spans nine nights and is dedicated to the worship of the goddess Durga. One of the most popular traditions during this festival is Garba and Dandiya Raas.

What is Garba?

Garba is a traditional dance form originating from Gujarat. It involves circular movements and is performed in groups, often around a central lamp or an image of the goddess. The dance is characterized by rhythmic clapping and footwork.

What is Dandiya Raas?

Dandiya Raas is performed with colorful sticks called 'dandiya'. Participants dance in pairs, striking their sticks together in a rhythmic manner. This dance is lively and is often accompanied by folk music and singing.
